Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account

You can delete your Board Pearls account yourself, at any time, without contacting anyone. Google Play requires this page to be readable without signing in, which is why it is public: if you have lost access to your account, you still need to be able to find out how to close it.

1. From the app

Open the menu, tap Account, then Delete account at the bottom of the screen. You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.

2. From the website

Sign in at boardpearls.com, open Account, then Profile and security, and use Delete account.

3. By email, if you cannot sign in

Write to [email protected] from the address on the account. We will confirm the request before acting on it, and delete it within 30 days.

4. What is deleted

Everything attached to the account, immediately and permanently:

Deletion is enforced by the database rather than by an application clean-up list, so nothing is left behind by an oversight in one code path.

5. What is kept, and why

Neither can be used to reconstruct your account or contact you.

6. Your subscription

If we bill you, deleting your account cancels the subscription and you are not charged again. Under the Refund Policy, an unused period may be refundable, so if you want a refund, ask for it before deleting, while the account still exists to refund.

If the App Store or Google Play bills you, deleting your account does not cancel anything. The subscription belongs to your Apple or Google account, not to your Board Pearls account, and only you can end it. Cancel it there first, or you will keep being charged for a service you can no longer sign in to:

We block deletion while a store subscription is still active, for exactly this reason.

7. Starting again

Nothing stops you signing up again with the same email address. It will be a new account: no progress, no history, and no way to recover what was deleted.
